Entering Awards

This year, to make the process simpler for entrants and to be greener, all entries for the Irish Logistic and Transport Awards will be submitted online. Please read the How to Enter page and instructions below carefully before submitting your entry.

Please Note: All sections must be completed to submit your entry. This means you will need the following:

  • Your Entry (no more than 5 A4 pages)
  • 100 word summary of your entry including main points and results
  • 2 x High Res photos relevant to your entry
  • Your Logo
  • The name of the person that will accept the trophy on your behalf should you be successful

How to Enter
  • Select the relevant category below and click 'Enter Online'

Page 1: Entrant Details

  • Complete the online Entry Form (Your contact details and organisation information)
  • Provide a 100 word summary of your entry, stating the main points and results

Page 2: Your Entry & Logo

  • This is the page where you will upload your submission. Please upload your document in the ‘Browse' field - simply click Browse, find where you have saved the entry on your computer and click OK/Open. Note: Each entry must be uploaded separately.
  • Please note that your entry must be less than 8MB and in PDF format, otherwise the system will not allow you to continue. This is the main body of your entry so please try to answer each of key points in the criteria and lay out all support information - text, tables, graphics etc so that it is easy and clear to understand.
  • Please also upload your organisation's logo in jpeg format. To do so, repeat the steps above and remember that the maximum file size is 8MB.

Page 3: Supporting Photos

  • This is the page to upload your supporting photos. Please upload 2 photos per entry to be used in the AV Presentation on the night, ensuring they are of good quality and relevant to your entry. These files must be high quality landscape, and jpeg format photographs (300dpi jpegs). The maximum size per file is again 8MB.

Page 4: Trophy Form

  • This is the page to confirm who will be your company's representative will be at the Awards in the event you should win.

Page 5: Your Entry Ref

  • This page confirms that your entry has been received. Please make a note of your reference number for any queries you may have.

Logistics and Transport Leader Award

Open to all senior individuals, the Logistics and Transport Leader Award is presented to the industry's corporate star. The award showcases an individual's significant contribution to a key initiative or project and how they have influenced its outcome.

The winner can be nominated by themselves or anyone inside or outside their organization, or involved in transport and logistics in the wider context, that believes the individual concerned has made a significant contribution via their own activities or influence to the advancement of the industry.

This category recognises the logistics and transport team that has worked best to achieve a significant goal or achievement. The team will have demonstrated initiative, creativity and leadership to be a positive force for change and improvement in the procurement function.

This award recognises the transport operator that has made real progress over the last year. This award is for outstanding achievement in managing the integration of supply chains from procurement through manufacturing to final delivery to the consumer,including reverse logistics. This could include integration of the total supply chain covering either one or several organisations.

Technology Award

This award is for promoting excellence and outstanding achievement in the use of materials handling equipment and technology at any stage throughout the supply chain, including raw materials, manufacturing, distribution and retail operations.

Your 5 page submission should demonstrate technological improvements in design and equipment, but equally, operational improvements derived from using materials handling equipment and technology.

This award recognises a logistics or transport project, action or initiative that has demonstrated true innovation. The award is presented to the team that can demonstrate a distinct new method or approach to a challenging issue.

Safety Award

This awards is for an outstanding achievement in any area of safety improvement. This may include programmes which lead to a demonstrable improvement in safety standards either within one organisation, trading partners or the wider community; particularly those which are sustainable, transferable or which demonstrate an innovative approach.

Employer of the Year

This award will go to the logistics or transport company that people most want to work for. So if you are proud of the way you look after your employees, and you believe you provide excellent staff facilities, HR support and lots of professional development and training - be sure to enter. In your 5 page submission explain your personnel strategy, how you recruit, train, motivate, communicate, reward and retain staff, and identify the ‘little extras' you offer that sets you apart from your competitors. If you have done any surveys or benchmarking of staff satisfaction levels include the key results. If you have introduced any new employee initiatives or innovations that you're particularly proud of, be sure to mention these.

Entries can be submitted by organisations direct, or staff can nominate a company on their behalf. If you are nominating the firm you work for please ensure the directors know about this and are happy for their name to be put forward.

Communications Award

This new award recognises the best communications campaign undertaken in the logistics or transport sectors. The award is open to external communications campaigns, or internally focussed ones aimed at staff. And it might involve a clever advertising or PR campaign, or work you have done involving online, social media, events or other techniques.

In your 5 page submission be sure to explain the campaign's initial objectives and targets, the strategy you adopted and why, and please quantify the results you have achieved. You might also want to include examples of any creative material you produced.

Green Mover Award

This award is for an outstanding achievement in the reduction of environmental impact. In your 5 page submission, please include the following aspects:

  1. Reduction in emissions, including disposal methods
  2. Reduction in packaging or other waste (including recycling)
  3. Improved sustainability of products or operations
  4. Staff involvement in improvement programmes

This award is for the employer who makes the most outstanding contribution to enabling and encouraging their employees to commute to & from work in a sustainable manner.

Future Achiever Award

This award is for outstanding achievements beyond that which is normally expected from managers of this age and experience. It is for excellence in any of the functions relating to the management of logistics and transport; including both operational management and supporting functions. ‘Young' is defined as someone who, on 31st December 2011, is not more than 35 years old.

The winner can be nominated by themselves or anyone inside or outside their organization or involved in transport and logistics in the wider context that believes the individual concerned has made a significant contribution via their own activities or influence to the advancement of the industry.
