AC Logistics Holdings Corp., the logistics subsidiary of Philippine conglomerate Ayala Corp., has signed an agreement to acquire up to 84 per cent of Glacier Megafridge Inc. (GMI), one of the country’s largest cold storage providers.

The transaction, announced on January 23, 2026, is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Ayala said the acquisition aligns with AC Logistics’ strategy to grow its cold chain operations, identified as a key pillar of its logistics business.

The deal is expected to integrate GMI’s established cold storage platform into AC Logistics’ network, expanding the group’s national footprint in temperature-controlled logistics.

GMI operates 12 facilities nationwide with an estimated capacity of around 75,000 pallet positions, making it a critical partner for food supply chains and efforts to reduce post-harvest losses.

AC Logistics and GMI already collaborate through GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corp., a joint venture operating a cold storage facility in Cagayan de Oro and developing a second site in Davao.

The acquisition is projected to increase operational scale and provide enhanced service offerings across the cold chain sector.

By leveraging GMI’s infrastructure and AC Logistics’ logistics network, the company aims to support growing demand for temperature-sensitive supply chain solutions.

The expanded capabilities are expected to improve efficiency, reliability, and responsiveness in handling food and other perishable goods across the Philippines.

Once finalised, the transaction will reinforce AC Logistics’ position as a leading logistics provider in the country, particularly in temperature-controlled warehousing and distribution.
