Aer Lingus weighs legal action over Dublin Airport night flight cap

Aer Lingus is considering a court challenge to An Coimisiún Pleanála’s ruling that caps night flights at Dublin Airport to 35,672 annually. CEO Lynne Embleton criticised the move as “completely unnecessary” and warned it could harm jobs and growth. The decision comes as Aer Lingus posted a 43% year-on-year rise in Q2 operating profits to €135 million. The airline argues that a noise quota system would be a more effective alternative.
