AIT Home Delivery has strengthened its UK final-mile network with the opening of a new 14,000 sq ft warehouse and office in Larne, extending its two-person delivery capability across Northern Ireland. The investment, located at Ballyloran Industrial Estate, enables faster fulfilment for heavy and bulky online orders including furniture, white goods, and garden equipment.
Co Antrim’s high-volume ro-ro port operations make the location a strategic choice, supporting up to 38 daily sailings to Scotland and England. With the new site, customers across Northern Ireland can now receive UK-origin orders within 72 hours, reducing the previous four-day delivery window and elevating AIT’s service standards in a competitive market.
The expansion builds on AIT’s recent growth in Scotland, following the opening of a warehouse in Cumbernauld. The Larne investment reinforces the company’s commitment to enhancing service speed, reliability and value-added features such as delivery to room of choice, assembly, installation and packaging removal. The facility is fully operational and serves the entire BT postcode.
Gary McKelvey, AIT’s Vice President of Global Home Delivery, emphasised that the Larne development raises the bar for final-mile delivery quality, enabling customers to receive goods ready for immediate use. Ryan Carter, Executive Vice President for the Americas at AIT Worldwide Logistics, described the move as a significant step in delivering a market-leading two-person delivery experience unmatched elsewhere in the UK.
The company, formerly known as Panther Logistics prior to its rebrand in 2023, has built a strong presence in premium home delivery services, supported by seven-day delivery, customer communication tools and comprehensive in-home service options.
