Saudi Arabia-based ASMO has partnered with Arcapita Group Holdings to develop a 1.4 million square metre purpose-built logistics facility at King Salman Energy Park in Saudi Arabia, according to a report in Logistics Manager.
ASMO, a joint venture between Aramco and DHL Supply Chain, will develop, lease and operate the facility under a 22-year occupational lease. Arcapita will fund and retain long-term ownership of the facility. The deal reflects growing institutional appetite for logistics real estate aligned with Saudi Arabia's industrial expansion.
The facility will include a 43,000-square-metre temperature-controlled Grade A warehouse, more than 3,000 square metres of offices and staff facilities, 5,300 square metres of dedicated chemical storage space and a 1.2 million square metre open yard designed to accommodate large-scale industrial operations.
Advanced warehouse management systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics integration and digital building management technology will be embedded throughout the site. The development is targeting LEED Gold certification and will incorporate photovoltaic readiness and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Senior Vice President of Procurement and Supply Chain Management Sulaiman Al Rubaian stated: "ASMO's new logistics hub at SPARK helps to strengthen Aramco's supply chain resilience by delivering a centralized, high-efficiency facility in the heart of Saudi Arabia's energy sector."
Located between Dammam Seaport, Aramco's Abqaiq facilities and Al Hasa, King Salman Energy Park provides direct connectivity to Saudi Arabia's energy and industrial ecosystem. The new hub is expected to strengthen supply chain resilience for Aramco and other major industrial operators whilst supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
The facility positions ASMO to serve energy sector clients requiring specialised handling capabilities for industrial equipment, chemicals and temperature-sensitive materials within Saudi Arabia's expanding industrial infrastructure.
