San Francisco-based artificial intelligence productivity platform Augment has introduced Knowledge Hub, a freight-knowledge capability designed to capture operational processes and deliver contextual information directly to logistics operators during workflow execution, according to a report in Logistics Management.
The system addresses challenges arising when knowledge about carrier performance on specific lanes, customer exception handling procedures and historical shipment resolutions becomes scattered across systems, documents and personnel. Knowledge Hub consolidates operational data, policies, past decisions and institutional knowledge into what the company describes as a single governed knowledge layer.
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Harish Abbott stated that logistics teams make thousands of high-stakes decisions daily, but the reasoning behind those decisions is fragmented across files and systems or retained as tribal knowledge among experienced operators.
The platform delivers answers within transport management system workflows, customer portals, email and chat interfaces. Operators can query historical decisions, such as carrier selection rationale for specific lanes, and receive responses grounded in prior performance data, customer requirements and documented exceptions.
Abbott noted that customer churn in logistics businesses typically results from combined factors including service levels, pricing competitiveness, responsiveness and tender acceptance rates. Knowledge Hub helps teams assess customer health and address retention risks by making relevant operational context accessible.
NFI Industries is among customers using the system to provide instant answers to standard operating procedure and policy questions without relying on specific personnel availability. The platform has been in development for over one year and is currently deployed across freight brokerages, managed transportation providers and carriers.
Augment reports that the system produces execution-ready answers inside operational workflows and compounds in value as it learns from team queries and decision patterns over time.
