Germany-based logistics group DHL Global Forwarding has launched a new dedicated transpacific air cargo service connecting Bangkok and Cincinnati, operating three times weekly as part of its new TransPac Connect solution and offering up to 100 tons of capacity per flight supported by road feeder connectivity across the United States.
According to Parcel and Postal Technology International, the service provides secure main deck capacity, stable schedules and improved cost predictability, designed to help customers plan supply chains with greater confidence amid market disruption and fluctuating freight rates. The solution is aimed particularly at oversized and high-value cargo, with end-to-end operational control central to its value proposition.
Henk Venema, global head of air freight at DHL Global Forwarding, said: "Southeast Asia continues to gain strategic importance as a manufacturing and sourcing region. With our new Bangkok-Cincinnati connection and broader Transpacific network coverage, we are offering customers not only speed and capacity but also the reliability and control they need to build more resilient supply chains. Expanding our controlled air freight capacity is a key lever to help customers navigate volatility and respond to disruption more effectively."
Beyond the Bangkok-Cincinnati route, TransPac Connect extends coverage to Hanoi in Vietnam and Taipei in Taiwan, connecting shipments to US gateways including Cincinnati and Chicago. The broader network provides customers across Southeast Asia with structured access to the US market through a single, controlled capacity solution rather than reliance on spot market availability.
TransPac Connect forms part of DHL Global Forwarding's wider controlled capacity strategy, which encompasses a dedicated air freight network spanning Asia, Europe and the Middle East with multiple weekly rotations across hubs including Frankfurt, Liège, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. The Bangkok-Cincinnati launch complements the company's recent expansion of dedicated air freight capacity between Asia and Europe, consolidating its position across both major intercontinental trade lanes simultaneously.
The timing of the launch reflects sustained demand from manufacturers and exporters in Southeast Asia for reliable, high-capacity air freight connections to North American markets, driven by supply chain diversification trends and growing sourcing activity across the region.
