Dr Sourav Sengupta, Assistant Professor at Trinity Business School and Director of the MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Trinity College Dublin, has been confirmed as a member of the judging panel for the Irish Logistics & Transport Awards 2027, bringing internationally grounded research expertise in supply chain planning, digital transformation, and sustainability to one of Ireland's most established logistics and transport recognition programmes.
Sengupta's academic career has spanned leading universities across four continents, including Monash University in Australia, IIT Bombay in India, NTNU in Norway, and Queen Mary University of London, a breadth of institutional experience that gives his research and teaching a genuinely global perspective on supply chain management and logistics innovation.
At Trinity Business School, he directs the MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management, shaping the education of the next generation of supply chain professionals in Ireland while pursuing research focused on helping organisations navigate uncertainty and build more adaptable, future-ready supply chains.
His published work in leading international journals in operations and supply chain management reflects a research agenda directly relevant to the challenges facing logistics companies and transport operators across Ireland's evolving logistics sector.
His standing as a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Ireland connects his academic expertise to the professional community the Irish Logistics and Transport Awards serves, giving his panel contribution a relevance that bridges research rigour and industry practice in sustainability in logistics, digital transformation, and operational efficiency.
The Irish Logistics and Transport Awards 2027 spans 33 categories recognising excellence across freight, transport, supply chain, warehousing, and sustainability, from Overall Logistics and Transport Excellence and End-to-End Logistics Provider of the Year to Green Supply Chain Excellence, Technology Provider of the Year, and Women in Logistics and Transport.
Sengupta joins Judging Coordinator Declan Allen of TU Dublin, Seamus Kavanagh of the Irish International Freight Association, Michael O'Callaghan of IPICS, Maurice Brady of TU Dublin, and Philip Tracey of Ace Express Freight.
The awards gala will take place on 4 March 2027 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, with entries closing on 16 October 2026.
