Finnish carrier Finnair Cargo has appointed HAE Group as its General Sales and Service Agent in Ireland, marking a strategic move to strengthen its foothold in the Irish air freight market and improve access to its global cargo network for Irish customers.

According to Avia Updates, HAE Group will represent Finnair Cargo locally, leveraging its market expertise and customer relationships to deliver cargo solutions across Ireland. The partnership is expected to strengthen customer engagement while expanding access to Finnair's international network from Dublin.

Finnair Cargo operates daily narrowbody services from Dublin utilising its containerised Airbus A320 fleet, with each aircraft capable of handling shipments of up to 1,100 kilograms per piece. The service is particularly well-suited for high-value and sensitive goods including pharmaceuticals and perishables such as fresh fish, reflecting the specific cargo needs of Irish exporters.

In addition to direct capacity from Dublin, the carrier offers trucking connections via London Heathrow Airport, enabling Irish customers to access Finnair Cargo's long-haul widebody network and connect to key international destinations across its global route map. The combination of direct Dublin services and Heathrow-connected widebody access gives Irish shippers a more flexible range of routing and transit time options than a standalone narrowbody service would provide.

The appointment of HAE Group reflects Finnair Cargo's broader focus on strengthening regional partnerships across Europe to enhance service quality and market penetration at a local level. For Ireland, the move adds dedicated on-the-ground representation to an existing Dublin operation, improving the carrier's ability to respond to customer requirements and develop new business across the pharmaceutical, perishables and general cargo segments.

Ireland's position as a significant pharmaceutical export hub makes reliable, temperature-controlled air freight capacity a critical requirement for many of the country's largest exporters, and Finnair Cargo's A320 containerised service from Dublin is well-positioned to serve that demand alongside its connections to wider European and intercontinental networks.
