Go Ahead Ireland is set to create up to 450 jobs with a major new bus depot in north Dublin, supporting its expanded contract with the National Transport Authority. The €50 million annual revenue boost reflects a broader shift toward sustainable, high-frequency public transport solutions in Ireland.

The proposed Ballycoolin depot will house 187 buses and support round-the-clock operations, enabling Go Ahead to scale 24/7 services in line with national transport plans. Beyond drivers, roles span engineering, maintenance, and administration—demonstrating the wider economic and employment impact of transport electrification.

For sustainability leaders, this is a live case study in how infrastructure investment, public-private partnership, and green mobility can intersect to drive growth.
