Hong Kong-based KLN Logistics Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Hong Kong Fire Services Department to enhance mobilisation efficiency and logistics support for international rescue operations, according to a company announcement.
The partnership, formalised at a ceremony on 20 March 2026, will see KLN leverage its global coverage, logistics expertise and infrastructure to deliver comprehensive logistics services and support facilities in disaster zones. KLN has previously participated in earthquake rescue missions in Myanmar and Turkey.
Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Ellis Cheng stated: "KLN is committed to the community and goes all out in disaster relief and aiding the vulnerable. This collaboration is a strategic progression of our partnership with the HKFSD for international emergency rescue operations."
Cheng noted that alongside rapid material dispatch and supply chain management, KLN will draw on its global network, freight expertise and local resources to support the Hong Kong, China Search and Rescue Team's mobility and on-ground requirements, enabling rescue teams to operate effectively upon arrival at disaster sites.
The collaboration encompasses four key areas. First, establishing pre-positioned supply hubs strategically located across KLN's global network, integrating advanced technology for smart equipment and personnel management to streamline planning procedures. Second, jointly developing an artificial intelligence-driven adaptive model incorporating KLN's end-to-end logistics services and support for local rescue operations, enhancing operational and mobilisation capabilities.
Third, utilising sophisticated equipment and supply management platforms combined with KLN's professional services across countries and regions to ensure precise tracking and resource control. Fourth, supporting smart post-mission analysis to optimise resource use, alongside KLN's devanning and replenishment services for efficient future deployments.
The partnership enables KLN to deploy its logistics capabilities whilst fulfilling corporate social responsibility commitments to support communities worldwide during disaster response operations requiring rapid international mobilisation and supply chain coordination.
