Thailand-based engineering company Machine Technology has entered a strategic partnership with Netherlands-based software provider Solvo Europe to offer terminal operating systems for ports and terminals across Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia, according to Maritime Fairtrade.
Under the agreement, Machine Technology will combine local hardware delivery and lifecycle support with Solvo's multi-cargo terminal operating system. The partnership addresses increasing digitisation requirements as Thailand expands port capacity and rail connectivity through the Eastern Economic Corridor initiative.
Managing Director Kittipong Rojanasheewa stated: "In choosing a partner, we looked closely at what the national and regional markets actually need—not just today, but in the years ahead. Solvo solutions don't just meet the current demands of Thai terminals; they offer a future-ready foundation."
Laem Chabang Port Phase 3 will increase container capacity from approximately 11 million to 18 million twenty-foot equivalent units per year, whilst Map Ta Phut Industrial Port Phase 3 expansion is boosting national energy and petrochemical liquid-bulk handling capacity. Cold-chain trade is also increasing, with Thai fruit exports to China via the China-Laos Railway recording triple-digit growth.
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Giovanni Migliaccio noted: "Southeast Asia's logistics ecosystem is entering a new phase of growth, and we're proud to contribute to this historic shift—together with our trusted partners at MTECH."
Solvo.TOS natively supports container, roll-on roll-off, bulk and break-bulk cargo types, with rule-based workflows digitising operations from gate and yard to vessel and rail. The system is used by terminals across Europe, Asia and Africa including Antwerp, Tallinn, Luanda and Aktau.
Machine Technology maintains engineering teams and spare parts inventory in Bangkok and Laem Chabang, providing on-site delivery and service-level agreement-backed support with regional coverage.
