New direct shipping route connects Belgium, Ireland and France
Dutch carrier WEC Lines has launched a new weekly container route linking Zeebrugge, Dublin and Le Havre, offering faster transit times and relieving pressure on congested North Sea ports. The 868-TEU service departs Zeebrugge on Thursdays, reaches Dublin on Sundays, and calls at Le Havre mid-week, completing a seven-day loop.
Targeting both dry and refrigerated cargo sectors, the route provides a direct and efficient alternative to traditional hubs like Antwerp and Rotterdam. With three weekly sailings now serving Dublin, the move reinforces WEC Lines’ longstanding presence in the Irish market and extends its reach across Western Europe.
See how this new route could reshape freight flows between Ireland and continental Europe.
