Japan-based logistics operator Nippon Express has opened the Tainan NEXT11 Warehouse in southern Taiwan to strengthen supply chain infrastructure supporting the region's semiconductor and artificial intelligence manufacturing sectors.

The 15,460-square-metre facility, operated through subsidiary NX Taiwan, commenced full operations in January 2026 within the Tainan Sinshih Logistics Park developed by Uni-President Enterprises Group. The site provides direct access to Taiwan's expressway network and sits adjacent to the Southern Taiwan Science Park, a major semiconductor production hub.

The warehouse incorporates raised-floor platform loading docks enabling large vehicles to access berths on each floor, reducing handling times for time-sensitive technology components. Climate control systems, continuous security monitoring and 24-hour staffing provide the stringent conditions required for semiconductor-related cargo, where temperature fluctuations and contamination risks can compromise product integrity.

Chairman Masaru Kawamoto stated at the opening ceremony that the facility would contribute to Taiwan's semiconductor industry development whilst enhancing the NX Group's regional presence and logistics capabilities.

Taiwan's semiconductor sector continues to expand as global demand for AI processing chips accelerates, creating pressure on logistics providers to deliver specialised warehousing and transport services. The island produces over 60 per cent of the world's semiconductors and more than 90 per cent of advanced chips, making supply chain resilience a strategic priority for manufacturers and their logistics partners.

NX Taiwan plans further investment in logistics infrastructure to support anticipated market growth whilst leveraging the parent company's global network for international supply chain coordination.
