UK-based logistics operator Oakland International has launched Oakland International Freight to expand its Irish market presence and provide integrated transport solutions across cold-chain and ambient cargo movements, according to a report in Checkout magazine.

The new division builds on the company's 16-year Irish operational history to coordinate full-load and part-load road transport throughout Ireland, the UK and continental Europe, alongside sea freight services to global destinations. The expanded capabilities target food producers, retailers and pharmaceutical clients requiring temperature-controlled logistics and regulatory compliance support.

International freight director Enda Maher stated that the division matches local expertise with global reach, helping customers move goods more efficiently whilst delivering standout service experience in the market.

Oakland International Freight provides European container solutions, deep-sea shipping to major ports, and access to temperature-controlled and standard warehousing across Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain and Austria. The operation handles ambient, refrigerated and specialised oversized consignments, supported by customs expertise covering GVMS, GMR, EXS and ENS procedures.

Maher noted that complexity and visibility represent the primary challenges facing businesses moving goods to and from Ireland, with the company's role focused on removing both obstacles through seamless, transparent freight solutions.

The expansion responds to sustained demand for resilient, compliant temperature-controlled logistics as regulatory requirements evolve across UK-EU trade lanes. Oakland International Freight reinforces the parent group's reputation as a customer-focused provider whilst supporting critical cold-chain flows for time-sensitive food and pharmaceutical products between Ireland, Britain and mainland Europe.
