The Government is preparing to greenlight the biggest reform of the School Transport Scheme since 1967, an ambitious plan that could open up 100,000 additional pupil spaces by 2030. Following a nationwide rollout of 14 pilot projects during the 2024/25 school year, decision-makers are now weighing bold changes: from aligning school opening times to deploying a more adaptable bus fleet, and integrating sustainable and public transport solutions.
