United States-based investment firm Thoma Bravo has entered a definitive agreement to acquire WWEX Group, a third-party logistics provider of parcel and freight services, and combine it with existing portfolio company Auctane, according to a company press release.

WWEX Group operates brands including Worldwide Express, GlobalTranz, Unishippers, JEAR Logistics and BLX Logistics. Auctane provides shipping and fulfilment solutions through products including ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack and Packlink.

Thoma Bravo is acquiring WWEX Group from a consortium including CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII, Providence Equity Partners, Ridgemont Equity Partners and PSG. CVC Funds and other existing investors will retain a significant minority position in the combined company.

Partner Brian Jaffee stated: "Auctane's category-defining shipping software and WWEX Group's scaled parcel and freight service offerings create an integrated solution with the data, distribution and volume necessary to help customers drive smarter decision-making and superior execution across the logistics lifecycle."

The combined company will unite shipping software and physical freight brokerage to create an artificial intelligence-enabled end-to-end logistics solution, connecting checkout to doorstep across parcel, less-than-truckload, truckload and global shipping.

Chief Executive Tom Madine stated: "By combining WWEX Group's brands and our position as a leading provider of parcel and freight services with Auctane's global ecosystem of e-commerce shipping software, we are creating a platform of tremendous potential."

WWEX Group offers logistics services to more than 130,000 customers nationwide, moving over 70 million shipments annually. In 2025, the company reported annual systemwide revenue of approximately $5 billion (€4.3 billion).

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026 subject to customary regulatory approvals.
