Dublin-headquartered freight forwarder Toga Freight Group, one of Ireland's largest privately-owned logistics operators, has joined the Pallet-Track network to expand its next-day delivery capabilities across Great Britain and reduce transit times for palletised freight moving between Britain and Ireland.

According to The Haulier, Toga Freight expanded into the UK market in 2023 and currently operates regular departures to Ireland and mainland Europe from depots in Kent and Warrington, moving significant volumes of palletised groupage freight through its hub at Hams Hall, near Birmingham. The Hams Hall depot will lead the company's integration into the Wolverhampton-based pallet network.

Robert Dickinson, group chief executive officer at Toga Freight, said: "Since our major expansion into Great Britain started in 2023, we have managed to control our volumes using our own resources in the main. However, we needed to shorten the transit times to Ireland to a next-day service from most, if not all of Great Britain, rather than just from around our own depots, so we needed to join a network to enable that."

Dickinson added that Pallet-Track was selected after evaluating several major UK pallet networks against criteria including service quality, sustainability and reliability. "When we looked closely at what we wanted to achieve, Pallet-Track came out head and shoulders above the rest," he said.

While Toga Freight already offers next-day delivery coverage across Ireland, joining a pallet network was identified as a necessary step to replicate that service standard throughout Great Britain. The company is also a shareholder member of Astre Europe and Astre Palet System and operates Toga Freight Services Asia LLC in Vietnam.
