Transmec UK has appointed Robert Evans to the role of account manager, bringing 25 years of contract management experience to the team as the Worcestershire-based operator strengthens its focus on key customer accounts.

Transmec UK is part of Transmec Group, an Italian logistics and transport company headquartered in Campogalliano, near Modena, with operations spanning Italy, wider Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The family-owned group, founded in 1850 and led by Danilo and Massimo Montecchi, reported revenue above €500 million for the first time, according to its most recent annual results, serving clients across fashion, automotive, technology, industrial and grocery sectors.

Transmec UK operates a network including warehouses in Redditch and Worcester, providing contract logistics and transport services across the UK as part of the group's wider European supply chain platform, which has also expanded its UK footprint in recent years with a warehouse at London Gateway.

The structural driver is Transmec's push to deepen long-term customer partnerships through dedicated account management as it consolidates its position across its UK warehouse network and broader European operations.

Daniel Holmes, country manager at Transmec UK, said, "We're firmly focused on helping all our clients achieve their objectives and are always confident in our ability to deliver. Robert shares our vision, and with his proven track record in developing long-term customer partnerships, he is the ideal person to help guide our key account operations."

Evans will focus on key accounts, initially taking responsibility for a longstanding account managed across the company's UK network.

Evans said, "Transmec is an impressive business built on strong relationships and a commitment to doing things the right way. I'm looking forward to working closely with our customers and our teams to support their mutual ambitions."

For the sector, the appointment reflects how UK logistics operators are investing in dedicated account management to protect long-term contracts as customer relationships become a key point of competitive differentiation.
