UK-based logistics provider XPO Logistics has been appointed as B&Q's home delivery partner in Ireland, supporting the home improvement retailer's operations with enhanced last-mile services, according to reporting in BDaily.

The partnership will focus on improving delivery times, increasing order visibility and strengthening communication through XPO's technology platform. Early results show reduced lead times and improved customer satisfaction, supported by collaboration between store teams and logistics operations.

XPO has expanded its Dublin hub and is utilising its wider delivery network, including sites in Cork and Athlone, to support nationwide coverage across Ireland. As part of the rollout, the first electric vehicle has been introduced into the delivery fleet, aligning with B&Q's sustainability goals and supporting the retailer's ambitions to switch to alternative fuels.

Senior Vice President of Distribution and Last Mile for Europe at XPO Logistics Xavier Bour stated: "B&Q is a leading home improvement and garden living retailer. Together we have created a home delivery offer which delivers the promise and ensures focus on the customer."

Director of B&Q Ireland John Eason added: "Our ambition at B&Q is to help make it easier for our customers to do their home improvement projects, and this includes offering a choice of fulfilment services so that they can get their products when and where they want them. With XPO Logistics on board, we're continuing the enhancement of our home delivery service for our customers in Ireland, giving them speedier and more reliable home delivery options."
